The Hanau Model Schools Partnership has an external advisory board that oversees the planning for technology implementation. Each member of the Board has a great deal of experience with large scale technology implementation projects, at the state and school district levels. The advisory group is chaired by the National Science Foundation Program Manager, Brian Harris, and includes:

Harvey Barnett

Dr. Barnett was the Director of Technology for 12 years for the Cupertino School District where he was the director of an Model School Project much like the DoDEA projects. He was also one of the original founders of the Apple Classroom of Tomorrow Project (ACOT).

Harvey is currently a consultant to educational agencies on technology planning and is a Senior Researcher (part time) for WestEd.


Margaret Honey Dr. Honey is the Assistant Director of the Center for Children and Technology, a branch of the Education Development Corporation. She has been the lead on multiple technology projects, including a large scale technology implementation partnership with the Union City School District in New Jersey, called the Union City Interactive Multimedia Education Trial.
Michael Radlick Dr. Radlick was the Director of Planning and Technology Services for the New York State Education Department (15 years), and has been a former teacher and school administrator. Presently he is working with a small technology consulting group involved in the planning, design and implementation of large scale, advanced learning technology projects with over 70 districts in New York, Vermont and New Jersey.
Margaret Riel Dr. Riel has been involved in both implementation of and research on communication technology in schools. She is currently the Associate Director of the Center for Collaborative Research in Education at University of California, Irvine.
